Toronto: street furniture that combines public service, aesthetics and advertising impact
This year marked the kickoff for the installation of a new generation of transit shelters, under a 20-year agreement with the City of Toronto. AMO will install 26,000 street furniture units in all in Toronto, the country’s largest advertising market.
Creativity on display
- AMO has always taken a bold approach to offering its customers exceptional campaigns, and 2008 was no exception. Many innovative projects were launched, including artistic murals , an exclusive product to downtown Montréal; and at Montréal-Trudeau airport, the largest mural ever created in Canada, measuring more than 50 metres wide and visible even from the air.
- AMO also launched a new network that combines static and electronic advertising at Jean-Lesage airport. Their resolutely modern design fits perfectly with the airport’s new architecture.
- In addition, the striking effects of integrating new technologies into outdoor advertising were evident in the streets of Montréal and Toronto, with 3D effects, electroluminescence, lenticular display and optical illusion.
Interactivity @ Outdoor
- For the first time in its history, AMO offered its clients the opportunity to associate their name with the brand-new VIP Lounge at the Montréal-Trudeau airport, featuring a large-scale touch-less interactive LCD screen which uses camera detection technology.
- Also at the Montréal-Trudeau airport, AMO is launching AeroTV-Bluetooth, a revolution in proximity marketing. A “first” in integrated campaigns combining interactive mobile applications as well as electronic and large-format advertising at departure gates in the airport.
Going GREEN
AMO has reaffirmed its leadership in adopting sustainable solutions for its industry:
- offering the first biodegradable vinyl in Canada - BIOFlex;
- integrating recycled and recyclable materials into its street furniture;
- achieving a 40% energy savings with energy-efficient lighting in its transit shelters, several of which are powered by solar energy; and
